Fusarium Infection of the Eye and Blindness

Bausch & Lomb ReNu MoistureLoc

Bausch & Lomb has permenatley removed its contact solution ReNu MoistureLoc from the market and admitted that it may be linked to thousands of consumer's eye infections. As of April 13, 2006 Bausch & Lomb halted all US sales of the ReNu MoistureLoc solution.

ReNu MoistureLoc linked to Fusarium Infection of the Eye and Blindness
The FDA announced that B&L suspects its ReNu MoistureLoc unique disinfecting solution can increase the risk of Fusarium infection of the eye. Without immediate and proper treatment of these infections the cornea can be permanetly injured and cause blindness in patients.

An estimated 2.3 million American contact lens wearers may have been exposed to this risk.

Tens of thousands of those are veterans.
